Top U.S. General Reminds The Fair-weather Patriots Why We Are In Iraq

Excellent story in the Washington Times today regarding the situation in Iraq and the value and importance of our mission there.

The top U.S. operational commander in Iraq warned yesterday against an emerging "complacency" among Americans who now question whether the two-year war in Iraq "is worth it."

"The United States has not been attacked again since 11 September. And so there's some questioning, perhaps, of whether or not what's going on here is worth it," said Lt. Gen. John R. Vines, who commands the Multinational Corps Iraq. "Quite honestly, I think we have a pretty clear-cut choice. We either deal with terrorism and this extremism abroad, or we deal with it when it comes to us, as it would inevitably, as it has previously."

This is definitely worth reading.

I ashamed that many of my fellow Americans are such Quislings that they would prefer a policy of letting the enemy attack us at every turn at home and abroad without retaliation. These are the same people who only to complain to the UN which is complicit in these attacks through it's non-action from being dominated by the same Tin Pan Dictators and Fascist Governments that foment the terrorists in the first place. Instead of supporting taking the bloodshed off the U.S. soil and into the places where terrorists and our enemies reside to halt terrorism and build the infrastructure for stability and democracy, they want to capitulate and withdraw, now that real progress has been made to change the centuries old suppression and oppression of Islamic Fascism. Ask any refugie who has escaped from Communism or Islamo-Fascism if they want to go back to the former lifestyle. Read this to refresh your memories about fascism.

"Ask any refugie who has escaped from Communism..."

My mother in law and husband escaped the Soviet Union (under threat of gulag) in 1978. My husband ALWAYS intended on joining the military, from the time he was old enough to understand.

After 9/11, nearly every man in the Russian immigrant community which my MIL is a part of (all over 60, by the way) approached my husband and asked how they could join the military, at their advanced ages, to defend our freedom.

They know very well what it is worth. Too bad that so many native born Americans don't have a clue.
