200 Entries/Blog Importance

Kerry and foreign_leaders.jpg

This picture marks my 200th entry. What an appropriate picture, Kerry and his "Band of Brothers".

Wow, as I look back it is amazing to me just how much this "blog thing" has grown for me. I started with 7 inbound links, 5 of those were the "blogfamily" and the other two I suspect were pointed to me by the blogmama, Mamamontezz.

Today I am just over 110 inbound links and I am averaging 5 times as many hits per day as I was in the first month.

What have I learned?

1.) Blogging is important, it offers a perspective that the media always manages to miss.

2.) Since Bloggers are from all walks of life there is much to learn from a good blog.

3.) Once you make friends in the blogosphere the sharing of information and links is invaluable. (Example, my letter drive has yielded over 250 letters in less than two weeks.)

Thanks again to everyone who reads and/or links my blog. I hope to continue doing this for a long time to come.

SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!! GW, 4 MORE YEARS!!!!

Simply awesome SlagleRock, 200 entries and you still have a full time job, that's true dedication. Keep up the great work. You're so right about the picture, it couldn't be more appropriate.

Of all the blogs I have built for people, of all the people I've helped get started or urged along, none of them has been as satisfying as watching this blog grow, and watching you grow as well.

You took to it like a duck to water, and kept it fun and fresh. Even when you haven't felt like writing, dammit if you don't just buck up and do it anyway. Keeps me writing just to try and keep up. And your writing just gets better and better. If you want a giggle, go to your first post all on your own and give it a read. The stuff you post now is no comparison to that first post.

Here's to your 200th post, and to your first year blog-aversary as it approaches.

Love and squishy old fat lady hugs,

Mama,

Thank you so much for the kind words. I really do appreciate it, and I am glad I have lived up to your expectations. When this all started I set Delfts as my benchmark since he had a little over a month on me. I have since caught and surpassed him be measurable means such as links and hits, but he continues to provide me with blog inspiration. As do you. Everyday I check your stats to see if I am getting closer. Someday I tell myself I will draw the crowds of good readers that you do. You are my new goal. While I'd love for my site to be as big as the Rott, The Blackfive, The BackCountry Conservative or some of the other big dogs I know it will take time so I will just keep pounding the keyboard.

Oh and one thing to note. I have only been blogging for 123 days (can you believe that) I haven't even hit 6 months yet so that blog-aversary is still a ways off.

I just had to get that in there as I am a bit proud of this site.

Thanks for all you do to make this site what it is.

Oh and you are right, that first post reads like I was re-writing history for some silly freshman book report. Too much wind and not enough point.

Congratulations - on the 200 mark and a GREAT site! It sounds like we started around the same time, I had my first post at blogspot on March 13. Like you, sometimes I am amazed at how quickly it's grown and how it's been received.

You do very good things here - the letters being just the tip of the iceberg.

Good luck and, again, congratulations. Looking forward to many many more wonderful posts!!

BTW - love the picture!

Congratulations on the milestone. I hope you get as big as they come.

Judging by the content you consistently post, I'm sure that goal will be soon realized. So, keep driving on, Hooah?

That pic is the funniest damned thing I've seen in weeks. AATW!

Congratulations on the milestone reached!

You really are doing a great job here. And great job on getting the letter thing going. That's a lot of letters, Slagle. Ya done good!
