January 22, 2005Klansman Byrd Attempts To Slow The Nomination Of Dr. RiceThis one is straight from:
Senator Robert Byrd, the Democrat from West Virginia is set to spearhead the effort to derail Secretary of State-nominee Condoleezza Rice. An interesting choice for the task considering the man’s past. Once again the Democratic Party, the "party of peace and understanding" has chosen the worst possible person to speak on their behalf. Let's have the racist denounce Condoleeza Rice. What in the world were they thinking? This is the best advertising the Dems can get, it shows the true color of their equality, which is why Byrd is still a Senator and still a Democrat, it's their reflection in the mirror. Posted by: Jack at January 22, 2005 10:42 AMYou can't judge a group by the actions of one individual. I'm confident that there are many fine Republicans,in spite of George W.Bush. If I judged all Republicans by the way he conducts himself I would show only ignorance. There are many good Democrats that are serving this great nation in a fine manner. Posted by: PappaSlagle at January 22, 2005 03:14 PMYour missing the point, Papa. You are correct in that there are some Democrats trying to do the best job they can for the country, but when the Party allows such a man to take the point; spouting his racist BS without (LOUDLY)calling him on it; they are tacitly agreeing wih his position, and painting the "good" Democrats in the same light. AND demonstrating that their much vaunted "tolerance" as the BS it is. Posted by: Delftsman3 at January 22, 2005 07:11 PMPappa, Delfts is right. Trent Lott said something nice about Strom and got busted for the appearance of racism. Sounds a lot like a double standard, doesn't it? Posted by: Beth at January 22, 2005 09:22 PMSigh... makes me sooooo PROUD to be from West Byrdginia... oh, wait... the name change hasn't went through yet. Time to get out the Pepto..
