The Popes Texas Visit
On a tour of Texas, the Pope took a couple of days off to visit the coastal area for some sightseeing. He was cruising along the sea wall on Galveston Isle in his Pope mobile when suddenly he notices a frantic commotion just off shore.
There was John Kerry struggling frantically to free himself from the jaws of
a 25-foot shark. As the Pope watched, horrified, a speedboat came racing up
with two men aboard. One of the men, President George W. Bush quickly fired
a harpoon into the shark's side while Dick Cheney reached out and pulled the
bleeding, semi-conscious John Kerry from the water. Then using (autographed
Round Rock Express) baseball bats, the two heroes beat the shark to death
and hauled it into the boat.
Immediately the Pope shouted and summoned them to the beach. "I give you my blessings for your brave actions" he told them. "I heard that there was
some bitter hatred between President Bush and John Kerry, but now I have
seen with my own eyes that this is not true."
As the Pope drove off, President Bush asked the Veep "Who was that?"
"It was the Pope" Dick replied. "He is in direct contact with God and has
all of God's wisdom."
"Well" says the president, "he may have access to God's wisdom, but he
doesn't know squat about shark fishing...... how's the bait holding up?"

While suturing a laceration on the hand of an 80-year-old grizzled Arizona rancher (whose hand had caught in a gate while working cattle), a doctor and the old man were talking about John Kerry's possibility of being in the White

Not knowing what the old man meant, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.

Dear Mr. Ex President Clinton: I recently saw a bumper sticker that said, "Thank me, I voted for Clinton-Gore." So, I sat down and reflected on that, and I am sending my "Thank you" for what you have done, specifically:
1. Thank you for introducing us to Jennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Dolly Kyle Browning, Kathleen Willey and Juanita Broderick. Did I leave anyone out?
2. Thank you for teaching my 8 year old about oral sex. I had really planned to wait until they were older to discuss it with them, but now they know more about it than I did as a senior in college.
3. Thank you for showing us that sexual harassment in the work place(especially the White House) and on the job is OK, and all you have
to know is what the meaning of "is" is. It really is great to know that certain sexual acts are not sex, and one person may have sex while the other one involved does NOT have sex.
4. Thank you for reintroducing the concept of impeachment to a new generation and demonstrating that the ridiculous plot of the movie ie,
"Wag the Dog" could be plausible after all.
5. Thanks for making Jimmy Carter look competent, Gerald Ford look graceful, Richard Nixon look honest, Lyndon Johnson look truthful, and John Kennedy look moral.
6. Thank you for the 73 House and Senate witnesses who have pled the 5th Amendment and 17 witnesses who have fled the country to avoid testifying about Democratic campaign fund raising
7. Thank you, for the 19 charges, 8 convictions, and 4 imprisonment's from the white-water "mess" and the 55 criminal charges and 32 criminal convictions (so far) in the other "Clinton" scandals.
8. Thanks also for reducing our military by half, "gutting" much of our foreign policy, and flying all over the world on "vacations" carefully disguised as necessary trips.
9. Thank you, also, for "finding" millions of dollars--- I really didn't need it in the first place, and I can't think of a more well deserving group of recipients for my hard-earned dollar than jet fuel for all of your globe-trotting. I understand you, your family and your cronies have logged in more time aboard Air Force One than any
other administration.
10. Now that you've left the White House, thanks for the 140 pardons of convicted felons and indicted felons-in-exile. We will love to have them rejoin society.
11. Thanks also for removing the White House silverware. I'm sure that Laura Bush didn't like the pattern anyway. Also, enjoy the housewarming gifts you've received from your "friends."
12. Thanks to you and your staff in the West Wing of the White House for vandalizing and destroying government property on the way out. I also appreciate removing all of that excess weight (China, silverware, linen, towels, ash trays, soap, pens, magnetic compass, flight manuals, etc.) out of Air Force 1 The weight savings means
burning less fuel, thus less tax dollars spent on jet fuel. Thank you!
13. And, please ensure that Hillary enjoys the $8 million dollar advance for her upcoming "tell-all" book and you, Bill, the $10 million advance for your memoirs. Who says crime doesn't pay?
14. The last and most important point -- thank you for forcing Israel to let Mohammed Atta go free. Terrorist pilot Mohammed Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners."
However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands. The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammed Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Centre.
This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports.
Why shouldn't Americans know the real truth?

John Kerry's The New Soldier
I first caught wind of this opportunity from Mamamontezz.
It appears that Stephen Macklin of No Mayo has been cool enough to post the much controversial book, The New Soldier, written by John Kerry in .PDF format for all to download and enjoy choke down.
I think this was an awesome thing to do. If you know anything about this vile book you must certainly know that most copies were gobbled up and destroyed by the Dems years ago when Kerry first started his career as a politician.

Just when the Dems thought they did enough to prevent the average person from being able to afford Kerry's vile book so they can see what kind of person he really is, the miracle of modern technology has stepped in and made it available for all.

21 Gun Salute
I got this one from one of my friends in CA. He is a reservist in the US Air Force:
I sat, as did millions of other Americans, and watched as our government underwent a peaceful transition of power in January 2001.
At first, I felt a swell of pride and patriotism as I watched George W.Bush take his oath of office. However, all that pride quickly vanished as I later watched William Jefferson Clinton board Air Force One for the last time.
I saw 21 Marines, in full dress uniform with rifles, fire a 21-gun salute to the outgoing president. It was then that I realized how far America's military had deteriorated under Clinton.
Every last one of them missed.

Other Issues (Where Do We Stand Part 2)
On the 25th I wrote a post titled Where Do We Stand about the Pres, the wannabe and the issues. I compared Kerry's and Bush's position on the issues with my own. I promised to finish so here we go. More of the issues at hand:
Home Land Security
Enemy Combatants
George Bush supports labeling U.S. citizens "enemy combatants"
John Kerry is against labeling U.S. citizens "enemy combatants" (ignorant son of a bitch)
SlagleRock says, I don't give a shit what nation a person claims to be a citizen of, if they act as a terrorist or other combatant then they clearly are "enemy combatants". Come on people 2+2 still equals four. Where is the issue here?
Patriot Act
George Bush supports the Patriot Act
John Kerry backs letting the Patriot Act expire without congressional approval (That's a good thing because if it required a vote Kerry would be absent)
SlagleRock thinks that some aspects of the Patriot Act need to be reworked, but in our modern world of around the world in less than 24 hours many of the provisions of the Patriot Act are necessary.
Immigration
George Bush proposed increasing budget to enforce immigration laws.
John Kerry wants to speed immigration process; unite families; patrol borders.
SlagleRock thinks Kerry just said blah blah blah, let me cover all of the views. I agree that perhaps the process should be faster, but we need to focus on productive members of society. Just allowing someone to immigrate without reason does nothing but further strain our economy, one more mouth to feed.
Intelligence Agencies
George Bush thinks the Homeland Security Dept. should be the primary conduit of threat information.
John Kerry wants to reform domestic intelligence; start targeted alert system
SlagleRock tends to agree with both on this issue.
International Policy
George Bush authorized war to oust Saddam Hussein regime.
John Kerry supported the war; later said Bush misled nation. (You mean he waffled? No!)
SlagleRock believes that the US did the right thing in Iraq and Afghanistan regardless of what the public perceives the motivations to be.
I will have a few more of these posts as I find the time. I have been very busy at work and home with the new baby so I do what I can.
I realize that many of my views are similar to John F-ing Kerry, but what do you expect, my friends say I am a liberal-conservative. My views on many issues do best align with John Kerry, but unfortunately his lack of integrity costs him everything as far as this voter is concerned.

John Kerry Supports Affirmative Action Policies.
George Bush has been both for and against Affirmative Action.
SlagleRock has known deserving people who have lost jobs to the racism that is affirmative action--Strongly opposes affirmative action.
Gay Marriage
John Kerry is Against gay "marriage" but supports benefits and rights for same sex couples.
George Bush backs constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
SlagleRock says let them "marry" or be joined in union and keep the religious view of one man and one woman out of politics.
Gays in the Military
John Kerry favors allowing openly gay men and woman to serve.
George Bush supports "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
SlagleRock supports equality and says until a queer hits on SlagleRock it's not an issue.
Gay Adoption
John Kerry supports adoption by gay couples.
George Bush opposes adoption by gay couples.
SlagleRock says that adoption should be based on an individual or couples ability to both financially and emotionally care for a child not the sexual orientation of those seeking to adopt.
Hate Crime Legislation
John Kerry wants to expand federal hate crime legislation and assure equal justice.
George Bush opposes expanding federal hate crime legislation to cover sexual orientation.
SlagleRock says crime is crime, a murder is a murder regardless of motivation. A rape is a rape regardless of motivation. Criminals should be punished for the crime not the motivation.
Defense
National Missile Defense
John Kerry opposes national missile defense, supports nonproliferation and arms control.
George Bush has ordered limited national missile defense system deployed by 2004.
SlagleRock believes that nonproliferation and arms control is a childish joke and believes Americans deserve a national missile defense plan.
Increase Size of Military
John Kerry wants to recruit more service members; start Community Defense Service.
George Bush has not proposed increasing the military's size.
SlagleRock knows first hand that we are spread to thin and need desperately to increase our numbers.
Program Budgets
John Kerry wants to invest in new equipment, technology; offer better pay, benefits.
George Bush would increase military spending 4.2 percent to $380 billion.
SlagleRock would gladly accept all of the above and still believes that more troops are needed to go with the spending.
Environment and Energy
Drilling in ANWR
John Kerry opposes oil exploration in Arctic refuge.
George Bush favors opening refuge for gas and oil exploration, drilling.
SlagleRock favors drilling in ANWR but also believes the government needs to spend more on researching alternative fuels.
Alternative Fuels
John Kerry promotes clean, renewable fuel sources, especially ethanol.
George Bush Proposed $1.7 billion to develop hydrogen-powered fuel cells.
SlagleRock thinks the government needs to step in and stop OPEC and other fuel conglomerates from buying up patents on machinery and automobiles that are already more fuel efficient.
Energy Policy
John Kerry says we need to set goals, incentives to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
George Bush supports market-based solution to improve air quality.
SlagleRock says if private industry can put a man in space and N. Korea can develop nuclear weapons then Energy shouldn't be an issue in the US and the major parties need to get off of their asses and stop catering to their supporters and do what is in the best interest of the United States.
Gas Mileage Requirements
John Kerry wants to push new gas requirements, hybrid cars, hydrogen fuel.
George Bush supports 1.5 mpg increase for SUV's, light trucks by 2007.
SlagleRock says that 1.5 mpg increase is garbage and could have been accomplished years ago if big business (Namely OPEC) wasn't capable of slowing progress in fuel efficiency. Hybrid cars will only be an option when they are capable of performing like cars powered by fossil fuels.
Health Care
Drug Costs
John Kerry says close loopholes; financial incentives to lower drug costs.
George Bush supports reducing drug cost for low income patients.
SlagleRock says there is a huge difference between profit and greed and drug costs need to be regulated and should be base on cost of production not demand or severity of the condition they treat.
Medicare Solvency
John Kerry wants to fund all health care by rescinding tax cuts, cutting waste.
George Bush wants to introduce private sector competition to reduce cost
SlagleRock says that all Americans deserve good health care and big business needs its pee pee slapped
Prescription Drugs Benefit
John Kerry wants to tighten rules on drug companies; focus on seniors, vets (descrimination)
George Bush supports adding drug benefit to Medicare
SlagleRock thinks that employers would benefit greatly if they would take better care of their employees by ensuring that they get the proper medical attention and drugs that they need
Nationalized Healthcare
John Kerry wants to let people buy into govt. system, fund by reversing Tax cuts.
George Bush favors improving current system over government base system
SlagleRock thinks there needs to be more options for people of all walks of life. We owe it to Americans to ensure that they live LONG healthy lives.
Sue HMOs
John Kerry would allow people to sue HMOs.
George Bush would place limits on patient lawsuits against HMOs.
SlagleRock believes that lawsuits lead to increases in the cost of medical treatments, however Drs need to be held accountable for piss poor care.
Okay, so that is only about half of the issues. I have been very tied up with the new baby, and I had to work a couple of midnight shifts in the Armory. It's not a total comparison of the issues obviously, but it is many of the issues. If I find time or there is great enough demand I will finish the comparison.

The "Love" Swift Boat
KERRY DENIES PERFORMING GAY WEDDINGS ON SWIFT BOAT
One Million Anti-Kerry Boatmates March on Washington
Democratic nominee John Kerry today blasted a just-released attack ad in which a new group of swift boat veterans accuse him of performing hundreds of gay weddings on the boat he commanded during that conflict.
The ad, financed by a group calling itself Swift Boat Veterans For Truth About Gay Weddings On Swift Boats, accuses Sen. Kerry of using his status as commanding officer on his boat to perform gay weddings on an almost non-stop basis.
According to one veteran who appears in the ad, Mr. Kerry stunned his boatmates by announcing, “I hereby declare this swift boat ‘The Love Boat.’”
The veteran goes on to accuse Mr. Kerry of performing hundreds of gay weddings “whether the sailors wanted to marry each other or not.”
The latest charges come at a critical juncture for the Kerry campaign, as over one million anti-Kerry boatmates marched on Washington this weekend to express their unbridled hatred of the Democratic nominee.
But Sen. Kerry came out swinging against the ads today, telling a Michigan audience, “It would have been impossible for me to declare my swift boat ‘The Love Boat’ because ‘The Love Boat’ did not come on TV until 1977.”
Moments after Mr. Kerry’s comment, the airwaves were blanketed with a new ad financed by a group calling themselves Swift Boat Veterans For Truth About What John Kerry Claims Did Or Did Not Happen On His Swift Boat.
In the ad, a veteran states: “Okay, so maybe John Kerry didn’t perform any gay weddings, but it’s a lot like something he would have done if given half a chance.”

Bush Clearly The Bigger Man
According to the International Herald Tribune President Bush said of John Kerry, "served admirably and he ought to be proud of his record."
President Bush went on to denounce so called 527 groups (Includes the Swift Boat Vets) and their ads. He went on to say that it is their soft money being used in the wrong way.
Even after Bush (being the bigger man) had commented favorably on the Service record of John Kerry; Waffles underling had this ignorant mess to say, "The moment of truth came and went and the president still could not bring himself to do the right thing," said Senator John Edwards, the Democratic vice presidential candidate.
These dumb-o-craps just keep showing their asses. What do they want Bush to do, drop out of the race?
Just keep bitching Kerry and Edwards, let the American people see just how low you will go and just how little integrity you have.

Unfit For Command Causes Huge Headaches For Bookseller Barnes And Noble
According to Reuters.com Barnes and Noble is feeling the backlash from the sell out of the book Unfit for Command.
Several locations of the Barnes and Noble book chain have reported that they are "sold out" of all copies of the Swift Boat Veterans Book "Unfit for Command".
According to B&N:
Barnes & Noble, the world's largest bookseller, on Monday issued a statement saying it had sold out of the book and, in effect, held up its hands in surrender to what it called "thousands of complaints" from both supporters and detractors of the book.Supporters, Barnes & Noble said, are claiming the bookseller has intentionally not stocked the title or is hiding it, while detractors are asking stores to remove it altogether.
"(Complaints) started in the stores, and the home office has been inundated as well," said a company spokeswoman.
She said the company's statement was meant to "set the record straight." It is not Barnes & Noble's fault, she said, but rather small publisher Regnery Publishing who cut the chain's original order in half.
It appears this little book has generated quite a stir, as to be expected. What I did not expect to see is anyone in America calling for the book to be removed from the shelves. Just like the Swift Boat Veterans TV ads, the Kerry campaign would like nothing more than to see the book banned. What kind of Bullshit is that?
Whatever happened to the first amendment?
Barnes & Noble chief executive Steve Riggio said, "Barnes & Noble would not remove any title from its shelves, nor does it have any political agenda."

In related news I have heard Rumor that the Book by former President Bill Clinton title My Life has been seen on the $100 rack at Barnes and Noble.

Marine Denied A Seat By Greyhound Bus Lines
I know this is old news to some as it happened back on the 9th of this month. However, with the recent complications leading to and the delivery of my son I have been very busy. Those of you who know me, know that I am very pro-military.
Something the likes of this deserves more than the harsh words I have to offer.
According to Fox21.com:
Monday, August 9, 2004, Marine Denied Bus RideAn area Marine says he wasn’t allowed on a Greyhound Bus, despite having his ticket for several weeks.
All PFC Jay Griffin wanted to do was make it to combat training camp on time, he had his ticket in hand and was at the Greyhound Bus Station in Greenville before the bus arrived, but he was not allowed to board the bus. He was dressed in full uniform, and his mother says that may be the reason why he was denied the ride.
It was Griffin ’s first time using Greyhound, so he asked plenty of questions to make sure he was at the right place at the right time. Fifteen minutes before the bus even arrived, he says he was waiting with his bags at the curb. His mother, Carol Holden says when the bus got there, no one attempted to load his camouflage bags. "So I tapped [the baggage loader] and said, 'what about my son's baggage? And he looked at me and said he may not have a seat."
That’s when the bus driver called for all ticket holders.
"So Jay went on around and he went to board the bus and when he did, the driver put his arm across the doorway and said I don't have a seat for you," explains Carol.
Greyhound says, “We do not have reserved seats, seating is on a first come, first serve basis. An advance purchase ticket guarantees a discounted fare, but it does not guarantee a seat.”
But Griffin ’s mother claims the ticket seller said any last minute tickets were clearly marked as “standby,” in red. And other ticket holders would have a seat. "He said the bus driver checked the tickets as they boarded the bus and that he knew the stand-bys were to be held until the regular ticket holders were seated."
According to Carol the clerk gave no explanation other than, "All he said was some of the drivers think they're God."
Carol says, "I don't think the driver intended to let him on from the very beginning."
Words that cut deep, especially for fellow Marines, like Sgt. Travis Schrowe, a local Marine recruiter, "Support to the troops and support to the Marines and anyone that's in the armed services is anything we ask for, just support….It would pretty much crush me."
Jay’s mother had to drive him to Jacksonville , North Carolina overnight, to make sure he wouldn’t be late for combat training the next day. If he was late, he’d face stiff consequences.
A Greyhound spokesperson says they are not familiar with the “stand-by” tickets used by the Greenville station, but an investigation is underway and Greyhound has zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind.
Obviously since this incident occured Greyhound has issued a statement that says that they don't discriminate against anyone, and that it must be a misunderstanding.
Yeah, misunderstand this:

You are the lowest sort of filth on this planet. You are lower than the shit of a million hogs. You deserve nothing more than to have you ass kicked all over the place by that youn Marine.
To the numbskulls at Greyhound that would hire a piece of shit like this:
Shame on you! If you haven't already done so, you need to fire that ass hole and contact the bus station that would do something so ignorant as to issue tickets for "standby" status on a bus.
I guarantee this, SlagleRock and his family will never travel Greyhound.

George Bush And The F-102

Any question of his service record was cleard quite some time ago, but a cornered moonbat will beat up on any old thing they can.
If I were a Kerry supporter I'd be scared shitless. He is a liar, and the Swift Boat Vets are pointing out all of the lies.
What was Kerry thinking when he chose to run on a military record that is so shady? Do you think maybe he should have run on is Senate record? Oh, wait that one is even uglier than his military service record.

Regarding Censorship: Kerry's Latest Insult to Vets
Before I left for work today, the headline and developing story at Drudge was probably one of the most frightening things I've seen in a longtime. As scared as some folks are about the Patriot act, this causes me much more concern. Members of the Democrat National Committee are attempting to have a book banned because the content of this book is detrimental to the election campaign of their candidate, John Kerry.
This isn't some group of overanxious parents trying to protect their children from our history as presented by Mark Twain. This isn't some church group asking the library board to prohibit children from reading Salinger. Nor is it a community asking for internet filters in libraries.
Today a political party is attempting to silence a group of citizens who espouse and present an alternate political opinion and an alternate version of facts as pertain to a seminal series of events surrounding their presidential candidate. Because character assassination against members of this opposing group has failed, they now attempt to silence them by demanding that their book be banned and their 527C status revoked.
This is an extremely dangerous precipice on which we find ourselves poised. What happens during the next several days could be very telling about where we are as a nation.
Will we allow a group of citizens to be silenced because of a dissenting opinion? Will such guardians of Civil Liberties as the ACLU avail themselves of this group of citizens, or will they allow their prejudices and obvious historical political affiliations to override their reason for existence? Will we as a thoughtful, informed and intelligent citizenry demand that such attempts at political censure be seen as what they truly are, as direct attacks on our constitution?
I'm afraid there are more questions than answers at this point. But from what I have seen before, if past experience is any indicator of what to expect, there will be no outrage from those who generally hide behind the petticoats of the first amendment. The press will not speak out, nor will the "main stream" broadcast or cable media. Those who do speak out against this censorship will be labeled as ideologues or reactionaries.
No one will remember the tremendous hue and cry against Mel Gibson personally or against his movie. No one will remember the organized attempts by action groups to stop production of his film, or to have his film banned by theater chains. Every reporter, pundit, editorialist and journalist, however, will point out any slight or criticism of Michael Moore's fantasy, real or imagined, and declare them the equivalent of what is now being directed at these naval veterans.
But we know better, don't we?
I don't normally agree with hijacking anothers words, but more often than not it is hard to say some things better than Mamamontezz.

Homecoming
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I was blessed with a second child.
My son Robbie was born Tuesday the 17th at 0956. He is a healthy 7 lbs. There were some early concerns about some "abnormalities" in his heart. His delivery was induced to "be safe".
He was bright shining and healthy when he was born. While they have found some minor "variations of normal" in his heart we are being told that it is nothing to worry to much about.
The Pediatric Cardiologist told me that he doesn't expect there to be anything severe enough to prevent him from "Joining The Air Force" or "Playing Footbal".
His abnormalities will be monitored over the course of his life and we will always hope for the best.
For now, he is happy healthy and home with is big sissy, Mommy and me.
Thanks to everyone who had nice things to say about his birth.

A Baby Is Born...
...My baby to be more precise. My son Robert Adyn-Michael was born today at 0956 a.m. He weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and measured 20.5 inches long.
As you can see I have been pretty busy over the past few days.
The blogging will be thin for a little while. Once things settle at home I will be back up and running full steam.
Thanks all, needless to say I am one proud Papa. This is my second child and he is just beautiful (of course he is, he looks just like his Daddy!)

SPC Flannery's Invitation
Back in April when I was just a baby blogger I got a link from the BlogMama about a female hero. That's right a female. We don't normally here much about women in combat and it was such a good story I had to share it.
In short 26 year old Specialist Theresa Lynn Flannery was involved in a two-hour fire-fight near Najaf, Iraq. Not only did SPC Flannery put the smack down on Iraqi insurgents, but even after she broke her wrist during the fight she managed to save the lives of some of her fellow soldiers.
Pretty impressive for a former Miss Teen Madison County. That's a whole lot of fire for a 5'3" woman.
Now the point of this blog. Like all who are wounded in combat (not those like John Kerry who apparently self inflict) SPC Flannery has earned the Purple Heart.
With this news SPC Flannery has extended this invitation (in spirit of course):
Aug 20th 2004 11:30-12:00 350th hhc Award Recipient Spc Flannery (Purple Heart). Here is the time hope you can make it.
She will be sending more information after the ceremony. I hope to post pictures and the citation.

Not Only Is Kerry A Moron, Apparently So Are His Supporters
Recently some computer hackers, allegedly supporters of Kerry, hacked into the Barnes and Noble online book sales page.
They altered the cover of a new book titled "Unfit For Command" which as you may have guessed is about John F-ing sKerry and how he is, hold on to your seats, Unfit For Command.
They changed the actual cover, which looks like this:

Did it not occur to these nimrods that if they were trying to show support for their lackluster candidate they probably should have removed the Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Agains John Kerry banner across the bottom of their makeshift cover?
What a bunch of idiots. Show your support, by bringing more attention to the fact that Kerry is hated by the military.
Yup, that about sums it up. There must be a reason someone would vote for Kerry. If this hack job is any indication that reason must be stupidity!

200 Entries/Blog Importance
This picture marks my 200th entry. What an appropriate picture, Kerry and his "Band of Brothers".
Wow, as I look back it is amazing to me just how much this "blog thing" has grown for me. I started with 7 inbound links, 5 of those were the "blogfamily" and the other two I suspect were pointed to me by the blogmama, Mamamontezz.
Today I am just over 110 inbound links and I am averaging 5 times as many hits per day as I was in the first month.
What have I learned?
1.) Blogging is important, it offers a perspective that the media always manages to miss.
2.) Since Bloggers are from all walks of life there is much to learn from a good blog.
3.) Once you make friends in the blogosphere the sharing of information and links is invaluable. (Example, my letter drive has yielded over 250 letters in less than two weeks.)
Thanks again to everyone who reads and/or links my blog. I hope to continue doing this for a long time to come.

Well, we have all been able to pull together to generate letters of support, perhaps now it is time to email one of the troops directly.
There is a great Blog run by a Soldier in Iraq called Fear and Loathing in Iraq. He is a Machine Gunner in the infantry.
His blog has told of attacks on their compound, ambush's during convoy, and horrific battles that have raged for hours on end.
A recent post titled, Men in Black, is a must read.
He is no writer, there are no spellchecks, paragraphs, and rarely the spacing and punctuation is correct. His site is a genuine and rough account of the shit as it happens.
After his Men in Black post his blog became noticed by different elements of his command. Since having to talk to his Battalion Commander about his blog he has become a bit shaken up, and has considered terminating his blog.
After you read his site you will surely become a regular. His stories are genuine and amazing. His blog offers a look at the real world the way the "dead tree people" in the news paper media can't offer. His facts are from the source!

Dear John,
After all you’ve been through in the past year, losing in the primaries and being unable to win reelection to your own Senate seat, I do hate to bring more uncertainty into your life; but I’ve noticed that since being named John Kerry’s new best buddy, your Two Americas stump speech and your new commercial now include a challenge to voters that goes something like this: “If you don’t think John Kerry is a leader, just ask the men who served with him in Vietnam. They’ll tell you he’s a leader,” or words to that effect.
Well, OK, John, why don’t we do just that? Let’s ask them.
At a press conference in Washington this past May, an organization called Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a group of former sailors who served in Kerry’s unit in Vietnam, presented a letter to Kerry signed by more than 200 of his former shipmates calling on him to release his military records so that the truth about his abbreviated tour of duty, his spurious wounds and his undeserved medals could be revealed to the American public. Not surprisingly, this event and this organization were totally ignored by the major media, as they continue to be to this day.
Did you catch that press conference? No? Never heard anything about these ol’ boys at all huh, John? Well, listen up, Senator.
If you visit their website, Swiftvets.com or a sister site, Wintersoldier.com, you’ll see some choice quotes from those fellows who served with your new best buddy. From Admiral Roy Hoffmann, his former commanding officer, come such phrases and characterizations as:
“Contempt for the military and authority….”
“Arrived in country with a strong anti Vietnam War bias and a self serving determination to build a foundation for his political future….”
“Aggressive, but vain and prone to impulsive judgment, often with disregard for specific tactical assignments….”
“A loose cannon….”
“Bugged out of Vietnam….”
and finally, “Not fit to command.”
I’ll bet you a Florida precinct that any good trial lawyer would consider someone of Admiral Hoffman’s stature an unimpeachable witness, wouldn’t you? Loose cannon? Bugged out? Not fit to command? I’m not causing you to have any second thoughts here, am I, John? Hmmm?
Now take a listen to retired Navy Captain, Charlie Plumly, who had Kerry,
“under my command for two or three specific operations before his rapid exit.“
Plumly is even less charitable to your new bud than the admiral. His quotes on Kerry’s service include these colorful expressions,
“Devious, self-absorbing, manipulative, disdain for authority, disruptive.”
And then he gives us this little jewel,
“But the most common phrase would have been requires constant supervision.”
Boy that’s a comforting thing to read on the resume of the guy who wants to control the world’s greatest nuclear arsenal, isn’t it? Makes it a little more understandable why your buddy was willing to swallow a Republican as his number two in command, doesn’t it, John? You do have to give him credit for knowing he needed a more experienced hand like McCain watching out for him. Sounds to me like what he really needs is Dick Cheney, hear me, John?
Then there’s Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, now deceased, Chief of Naval Operations at the time of Kerry’s service, who said,
“With Kerry’s large ambitions, his career in Vietnam will haunt him if he were ever on the national stage.”
Oh my, and just look at who’s up there on that stage with him, bringing up that career at every opportunity. Hey, John, as a trial lawyer you’ve got to know some good investigators. Why don’t you part with a few thou and check some of this out? I mean this could take the expression, “egg on your face” to a whole new dimension, know what I mean?
The Swiftvets website has several testimonials from others who served with your buddy and none are laudatory. On the contrary, they are replete with refutations of John Boy’s claims in his book, Tour of Duty, ranging from emotional denials of the war crimes Kerry depicts there to ridicule of his wearing that leather flight jacket on the campaign trail and claiming it brought him luck in Vietnam,
“No one wore such a jacket in 90+ heat.”
You sure you want to keep bringing this guy’s service record up in every speech, John? I know it’s easy for someone who never served to be a little overawed, but good grief, even a weenie liberal lawyer ought to be able to figure out you don’t wear leather jackets on jungle patrols, you know? And what’s with this flight jacket business anyway? What was John Boy flying over there? Sure as hell wasn’t a supersonic F-102 interceptor like George Bush, now was it?
But of course! Why didn’t I think of it? That jacket could explain the minor nature of his award-winning wounds; kept all that nasty flak and flying lead from really hurting him instead of just breaking the skin, you know? Guess that’s why he calls it his lucky jacket. But I got tell you, Man, speaking of breaking, I’m sitting here breaking out in a sweat just thinking about it. I mean, jungle fatigues were hot enough; but leather? With fleece lining? Whew, man, that’s hardcore!
Well, I guess I am going have to admit this, John. In this regard, you’re right; there are Two Americas: there’s the America that believes your buddy wore a fleece lined, leather aviators jacket in the jungle; the America that will mindlessly heed your impassioned challenge to listen to the bought and paid for endorsement of the half dozen or so enlisted crewmen your buddy has shanghaied into his campaign. Then there’s that other America, the one out there waiting for the media to let us hear the more than 200 voices of those who served well and honorably, both officers and enlisted, who are telling the truth about your good ol’ buddy. Somehow, some way, I believe, I pray, that will happen.
And even if it doesn’t, what those truth tellers are saying has relevance for you, John. Think about it; your oh-so-affectionate, backslapping partner bugged out on them and then libeled and slandered them viciously to serve his own political goals. So you might just want to consider this, Senator: if you guys lose in November there will be Two Americas all right. And you can bet your biggest contingency fee anyone Kerry can blame for costing him the goal of his life sure won’t be part of his America anymore. Talk about getting a “Dear John” letter.
Think, Johnnie Boy, think. Didn’t your ol’ Daddy ever teach you nuthin' bout leopards and spots?

Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry was born in Mozambique, the daughter of a Portuguese physician, was educated in Switzerland and South Africa. Fluent in five languages, she was working as a United Nations interpreter in Geneva in the mid-60's when she met a "handsome" young American, H. John Heinz, III, who worked at a bank in Geneva. He told her his family was "in the food business."

According to the G2 Bulletin, an online intelligence newsletter of WorldNetDaily, in the years between 1995-2001 she gave more than $4 million to an organization called the Tides Foundation. And what does the Tides Foundation do with John Heinz's money?They support numerous antiwar groups, including Ramsey Clark's International Action Center. Clark has offered to defend Saddam Hussein when he's tried.
They support the Democratic Justice Fund, a joint venture of the Tides Foundation and billionaire hate-monger George Soros. The Democratic Justice Fund seeks to ease restrictions on Muslim immigration from "terrorist" states.
They support the Council for American-Islamic Relations, whose leaders are known to have close ties to the terrorist group, Hamas.
They support the National Lawyers Guild, organized as a communist front during the Cold War era. One of their attorneys, Lynne Stewart, has been arrested for helping a client, Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, communicate with terror cells in Egypt. He is the convicted mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
They support the "Barrio Warriors," a radical Hispanic group whose primary goal is to return all of Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas to Mexico.
These are but a few of the radical groups that benefit, through the anonymity provided by the Tides Foundation, from the generosity of our would-be first lady, the wealthy widow of Republican senator John Heinz, and now the wife of the Democratic senator who aspires to be the 44th President of the United States.
Aiding and supporting our enemies is not good for America, regardless of your political views.
If voters will open their eyes, educate themselves and see the real Teresa Heinz Kerry, they will not appreciate her position as ultra rich fairy godmother of the radical left. They will not want to imagine her laying her head on a pillow each night inches away from the President of the United States.
Hopefully they love this country enough to decide that the only way these two will ever be allowed into the White House is with an engraved invitation in hand.
Let everyone know these people are unfit to represent this great nation. The uninformed will never hear the truth from the press, who wants Kerry elected!
Those who buy the Kerry facade, beware what you vote for - - - you may regret that you got it!

Recently I added the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth website (SwiftVets) to my blogroll under the No Quarter Given heading. As always when I find a new blog (at least new to me) I take time to rummage around their house and see what I can find.

Fay Wray is Dead
Fay Wray, star of the 1933 version of King Kong has passed on at the age of 96.
Wray was born in 1907 and starred in several Hollywood films.
I only chose to mention this one because King Kong was always one of the classics. As a kid even though it was a shitty black and white film, it scared the hell out of me.

Slowing Down
As you all know, I have been pushing the effort to send Letters of Appreciation to the Troops in the Middle East.
We are starting to slow now. We just topped 210 letters and I have only received one since Saturday.

Over 200 Letters!!!
Well, thanks to everyone who has helped out so far we topped 200 letters for the troops today. That number includes the letters that have been tracked back to my site by other bloggers, letters submitted via email, letters that I have found in my comments section and letters I have found in the comment sections of other bloggers.
(Did I provide enough links to the post that started it all?)
I know there are more out there. If you know of any great blogs that have written letters to the troops, even in the past if you can put a link to it in the comment section of this post I will be sure it gets printed and included in the bundle of letters that I am sending out next week. Again the deadline is Thursday 12 August. After that I will be printing out all of the letters I can find and sending them to Iraq with a friend.
I am here to tell you (having spent 9 months there myself) that letters from true American patriots really help. Just when you think things have hit the lowest of the low you receive an open letter from someone who truly appreciates what it is that you are doing. These letters can keep you going.
During my last trip to the sandbox we got letters and care packages from people of all walks of life. We received colored pictures from elementary school students and multi-page letters of appreciation from Harvard professors. We got care packages from Veterans and those who wanted but could not serve. It is a great feeling to know that America cares!
Don't let this fizzle; keep the trackbacks, letters and comments coming. We have 5 more days to build the numbers.

Al-Jazeera Shut Down!!
Perhaps there is hope for the interim Iraqi government yet. The government of Iraq has ordered that the Baghdad bureau of the Al-Jazeera network shut it's doors and operations for one month.
According to CNN:
Iraq's interim government has closed the Baghdad office of the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera television network for one month, citing national security concerns."This decision was taken to protect the people of Iraq and the interests of Iraq," Interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi's told a news conference Saturday.
Allawi said the order to close Al-Jazeera, which was to take effect immediately, came after an independent commission monitored the network's reports.
The findings of the commission were "compelling," he said.
"They came up with a concise report on the issues of incitement and the problems Al-Jazeera has been causing."
This is a good move. Al-Jazeera has served as the mouthpiece of the world’s terrorist organizations for a very long time. Al-Jazeera has aired video that is in poor taste and further incites, and in many ways condones, terrorism.
While I wish the news had been of a permanent shutdown of Al-Jazeera in Iraq, one month is a good start. I tip my hat to the interim government of Iraq. Hopefully this will be one of many good decisions to come.

Great Appreciation And A Little Luck
The Letters to the Troops Campaign is gaining steam. So far we have accumulated 20 trackbacks from other great blogs. I have been emailed about 25 letters from readers and there are numerous letters in my comment area, not to mention the comment areas of the other great bloggers that have posted on this!
So far I have about 100 total letters. Let's see if we can make it 500!!
Now, for the luck. Our deadline is being extended. We now have until mid next week to get all of the letters together. I will be gathering and printing the letters from the trackbacks, emails and comments next Thursday evening (the 12th). Sometime shortly thereafter they will be hand carried to Iraq.
Keep 'em coming. Keep up with the trackbacks, emails and comments.

Keep The Letters Coming
Well, this is the first full day of my campaign to generate letters for the troops. I have a close personal friend who will be headed to Iraq in the very near future.
So far the campaign has generated about 25 letters that I am aware of.
I want to say thanks to those bloggers who have helped me get the word out.
The following bloggers have been very helpful by either generating letters of their own or linking to my site:
Denita x3, Mamamontezz, Delftsman, Pudgy Pundit x2, The Dissident Frogman, The Backcountry Conservative, Bill's World and Bonfire x2.
I'd also like to thank those of you who have emailed your thoughts and letters to me. I have received 11 so far from readers who do not have blogs of their own. I have also received a few letters in my comments sections.

Letters To The Troops (Help From All Bloggers)
Yesterday I wrote a post inspired by Mamamontezz and SPC Joe Roche. After writing this post I received a couple of trackback pings and some very nice comments from readers and other bloggers.
I was talking to Denita of Who Tends The Fires and was inspired to make this posting a much larger event. 'Nita said that she wished she knew a way to get the letters to the troops.
I have that way. A close personal friend is about to embark on his first deployment to the Middle East. Let’s send him off with some words of inspiration!
Now, I issue a challenge to all bloggers and their readers.
If you haven't already done so, please write a post/letter to the troops. Trackback to either this post or my letter. I will give it a couple of days for the trackbacks to build. Then I will go to each of your sites and print out your letters. I'll use the trackbacks to ensure that I get the letters of all who wish to participate and don't miss any. I will be giving those letters to a Technical Sergeant in the USAF to hand carry to the troops on the front lines.
For the readers of blogs, if you do not have a blog of your own, feel free to place your letter to the troops in my comments section of either this post or my letter post. A warning to trolls, don’t say anything negative about the troops! This is for supporters of the troops only!!
Let’s think/go big on this. I am asking all the great bloggers to help me out with this. While Mama, Denita and a few others have written good letters I'd like to send him off with more than a few.
Let’s show the troops just how much they truly mean to all of us.

An Open Letter
Many of you may have seen some of this around the blogosphere. A letter from a SPC Joe Roche of the 1st armored division has set aflame thoughts and emotions about Michael (fat slob, communist, piece of shit, douche bag, waste of space, pansy, leftist, cock sucker...) Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11.
Many times we forget just how much impact there is in a kind word, or a brutal cinematic slap in the face. Michael Moron has done just that with his garbage, "documentary" (my ass) titled Fahrenheit 9/11. Moore attempts to convince his audience of a link between the Bush administration and the Bin Ladin family in Saudi Arabia. He even tries to convey the point that 9/11 was planned and was a way for the Bush family to make money. As SPC Roche pointed out his film is all garbage. Unfortunately I think that perhaps it is doing what that fat slob Michael Moore had hoped for. It is demoralizing good Americans. In a time of war, that is the last thing the troops need. The worst thing is that Hollywood and Morons like Moore either don't realize how damaging this film is or don't care.
Here is what I'd like to say to all of the brave men and women serving in harms way:
To my fellow compatriots, the brave men and women of the Department of Defense. Whether you are male or female, Seaman, Airman, Soldier or Marine you are without a doubt the finest human beings on the planet.
We (the US military collectively) have selflessly volunteered to serve this great nation and its just president. Everyday we put our lives on the line so that American's can enjoy their freedoms. We do a job that most couldn't handle. We have chosen a life of service that protects our great land and often intercedes to prevent injustices to nations that aren’t capable of defending themselves i.e. – Afghanistan, Iraq, France.
Throughout our relatively short history the United States has reshaped the face of the planet. At one time, socialist/communist governments were abound. Today very few exist. The great communist superpower, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics crumbled during the cold war. Europe as a whole has been spared enslavement by warmongers on more than one occasion largely due to the efforts of the United States. We have freed the people of Afghanistan and Iraq from brutal oppressive governments. Collectively the United States has ensured freedom for millions of people throughout the world.
Look but do not see the images that Michael Moore depicts. Listen but do not hear the words that his ACTORS speak. Pay no attention to the selective editing that he has so surreptitiously used to try and portray our great president as a money hungry warmonger. Michael Moore has an agenda. His views are shared by John Kerry and vice versa. Hollywood’s left is bent on ousting a good president and Kerry will ride their coattails if it can deliver the presidency.
We all know and understand what fiction is and Fahrenheit 9/11 is just that, fiction, not fact. It is merely one misguided mans opinion of events surrounding September 11, 2001. We all know more INTEL about the terrorists than Moore could ever hope to understand. We are on the inside we see the truth. We have heard the “thank-yous" from Iraqi fathers that will no longer have to worry about their daughter(s) being sent to one of Saddam’s rape camps. We know what we did in Iraq was just and simply put the right thing to do.
For all the officers and NCO's out there keep your young troops in the game. Don't let this garbage of Michael Moore’s disrupt moral or make a troop second-guess his involvement in the war with Iraq. These brave young men and woman are history makers. They are the ones that are molding the world and making it a better place for all of humanity.
My part in Operation Iraqi Freedom will forever be one of my proudest moments. No crooked politician, leftists media outlet or crackpot film producer will ever change my opinion of the President, these United States, our role in the Middle East, or my own personal involvement in the war.
Stay strong, stay safe, and most importantly be proud of who you are and the great nation you serve.
